Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment. Thich Nhat Hanh
I have written a newsletter in August of last year “Why Meditate” and I refer to that newsletter and include below the associated mind-map. Why have I returned to meditation in this newsletter?
Every week I release a podcast. It’s called the “Over Forty Wellness Podcast” – its targeted at the over forty year-old demographic. This week on the podcast my guest was Adrian Fu.
Adrian is a Hong Kong born songwriter, producer and recording artist who has written songs for Eason Chan, Sammi Cheng and more. He also has two critically acclaimed albums to his name. In the podcast we go into some detail on Adrian’s journey with meditation both as a practitioner and also as a meditation teacher. I have included a link to the episode.
As you can see from the mind-map the benefits of meditation are many. Tapping into these benefits with a simple meditation practice can have profound benefits. Adrian’s story goes into the detail of how meditation works for him.
Can meditation work for you? Can you develop a meditation habit? My recommendation is you start with small steps.
For example: Every day before I drink my first coffee or tea…… I will sit down on a comfortable chair, I will close my eyes and I will focus on my breath. Breathe in, breath out, breath in, breath out, repeat for 10 breaths. When I finish I will pause, breathe deeply and appreciate my success.
